An evening to remember that is for sure! What started out as a couples session, turned into the most precious and perfect proposal that even I didn’t know was going to happen!

When Viry inquired to get some fun pictures done with her and her sweetheart while they were visiting Nantucket from Arizona, neither of us had any clue what was going to happen that day! We met in Sconset to walk along the Bluff walk, and the second they came around the corner they were so smiley and giggly. Just pure happiness from the very start. I love getting to see couples who clearly are so in love, it was bound to be such a fun shoot! And I must say, Joe was as calm as a cucumber… I can’t believe he had a ring in his pocket the whole first hour! He was just adorable. Viry looked so gorgeous, and her outfit was so Nantucket. She told me it is one of her absolute favorite places on earth, and she was so excited to be showing Joe the island.

After walking around the bluff walk in Sconset, and walking along the bridge there, we headed over to the Sankaty Head Light to watch the sunset and take a few more pictures there. They were really warmed up at this point, and they were just so much fun to be creative with. So happy and easy going! And as we wrapped up, or as I thought we were finishing, Joe holds Viry’s hand and then drops to one knee! A total surprise to everyone, but especially Viry! It was absolutely perfect, and I am so glad I hadn’t put my camera back in my bag. We managed to capture the whole thing! And while the light was in the wrong place when he was on one knee, I am still so happy we got it on camera!

We then headed back to where they were staying at the Wauwinet Inn, and walked out to the dock to snap a few more quick pictures. The Wauwinet so generously gave them two glasses of champagne to celebrate, and we made sure to get some pictures of that beautiful ring!

Many congratulations Viry + Joe… you two make a beautiful couple, and I hope to see you on Island again soon! Have so much fun planning all of the wonderful things ahead!
