Shared loves, that you have in common with another person… are always such a fun thing. And I know pretty much immediately, if I am going to absolutely love a potential client or not, but especially when we have this one particular shared love in common… and I am not just talking about Nantucket… but rather if they love dogs! HA! I am a huge golden retriever lover (if you didn’t notice in my branding haha), and find myself talking about them and sharing reels with my fellow golden lovers all the time. When Christine and I first started chatting after her initial inquiry looking for a Nantucket wedding photographer, she and I connected on Instagram. I noticed right away her love of dogs. Specifically her love of rescuing dogs, and her passion for bringing awareness to all of the shelters that need to find homes for so many animals, immediately made me adore her. Her advocating for Pitbulls, and the awareness for that breed is inspiring. You can tell how big of a heart she has! Needless to say I was excited to meet them! They had come all the way from Manhattan where they live, and this was their first time to Nantucket.
We met up for some engagement pictures in Nantucket, on a very dicey, spring day this past May. And what was forecasted to be a gray, drizzly day on island, turned out to be the most picture perfect, gorgeous, sunny day! Even I was even shocked! Nantucket weather always, in my experience, has a way of almost always working out. Which is something us photographers have learned along the way. We began our engagement session chatting about dogs, and whether we were Yankee or Red Sox fans out in Sconset at the Bluff walk. And I will just say we have both fans in the house! HA! So much was just beginning to bloom there, the pink trees were exploding, and all of the other budding flowers all over. Next we headed over to the Sankaty Head Light, which is always one of my favorite spots! So classic Nantucket, it is timeless! We ended our time together at The Wauwinet, which is where we will be for their wedding this July. A favorite venue of mine. Everything was absolutely dreamy, and I think Dylan even had a good time! HA! I feel like I am pretty good at making the guys even have some fun during pictures!
Congratulations again Christine + Dylan! You two are a beautiful couple, both inside and out!
Joyfully,
Melissa
