Where do I begin with this picture perfect proposal? It had “Coastal Americana” vibes written all over it with it being over Memorial Day Weekend, and with Nantucket all beautifully decorated for the holiday weekend. These two…Michael + Meghan were absolutely the sweetest couple ever, and just adorable in every way. Let’s just say this gallery is huge, because how could it not be?
When Michael contacted me, he had such a clear vision, he was so incredibly thoughtful, so calm and kind, and I was immediately taken aback at just how much he had planned out so many details, so far in advance. He was pulling out ALL the stops. He thought of flowers in multiple locations from the amazing Flowers on Chestnut, champagne in multiple locations from The White Elephant, family from both sides there as a surprise to celebrate, dinner reservations…. a photographer…love to see it! He also shared with me that they had been traveling to some fun destinations recently, but nothing had felt quite right for a proposal. He thought that since she was a coastal loving girl (his words haha), Nantucket would be the perfect spot to ask her to be his wife. Michael had spent summers on the Cape as a kid in Harwich, so hopping over and and spending the weekend on Nantucket seemed perfect.
Meghan didn’t know it yet, but her beautiful, baby blue, gingham dress would look absolutely perfect next to the big, beautiful, red, white and blue American Flag in the backdrop of all the pictures in front of the Brant Point Lighthouse. Her ring was especially meaningful, because Michael had it made to look like her Mother, and her Grandmothers rings. So, so very special! There was not one dry eye there from anyone because of getting to witness such a special moment. Meghan’s sister, in the beautiful red dress had such a genuine, heartfelt reaction, she made me tear up! How beautiful, and wonderful to share a sister bond like that. Having both of their loving families there was the cherry on top, and it was a beautiful thing to witness. The whole thing was quite a literal dream to capture!
Congratulations again, Michael + Meghan! What a treat it was getting to be a part of this moment in your lives!
Joyfully,
Melissa
