From the moment Whitney and we chatted on the phone, I absolutely fell in love with her vision for her wedding, and absolutely loved her. She wanted simple, classic and elegant. She was so much fun, and so easy to talk too, and she simultaneously made me laugh about all the planning, and at the same time clearly communicated her vision for the wedding in all of the most thoughtful ideas.
Whitney and Jeff live in New York City, but come to Nantucket often to her family’s summer home here. The most beautiful last day of June here on island with a warm breeze blowing, yet a light warmth from the humidity today. The sun was peeking in and out and the weather gave us everything under the sun during our time together! We met at the Nantucket Unitarian Universalists Church mid afternoon, and what a beautiful place. Light and bright and airy, with big windows letting that beautiful natural light pour in. Windows open with the smell of the ocean coming inside. The ceremony was simple and perfect with just Whitney and Jeff and their parents present.
After the ceremony we walked out back behind the church to the gardens they have there, and then took a walk over to the Old North Wharf for some bride and groom portraits. The hydrangeas and the climbing roses are as big and bright as I have ever seen before this year. Especially the cotton candy ones. So so beautiful! And the climbing roses too, just so many blooms!
Whitney and Jeff, you both were so pleasant and fun and delightful to get to be with on Sunday. Congratulations on your special day, and I wish you many happy years together.
Joyfully,
Melissa
